Family tree - Part 4 Census records



Census records are details of households taken by the government every 10 years
 since 1801 for statistics purposes. Although they are only useful to genealogist and
those tracing their family tree from the 1841 census as they contain details of
every person living in the household.


1841 Census Contains




  1. Address 
  2. Names
  3.  Ages (to the nearest 5 years)
  4.  Sex
  5.  Occupation
  6. Whether born in county


    




1851 - 1901 Census Contains
  1. Address
  2. Names
  3. Ages
  4. Sex
  5. Occupation
  6. Place of birth
  7. Disability 




   
1911 Census Contains
  1. Address
  2. Names
  3. Ages
  4. Sex
  5. Years married
  6. children born of marriage (alive or dead)
  7. Occupation
  8. Place of birth
  9. Disability (This is censored)

2 April 1871
3 April 1881
5 April 1891
31 March 1901

You can search Census records for free at FreeCEN please be aware that not all
 areas have been transcribed as yet but the volunteers are working hard to put
them on as soon as possible.
