Ginger loaf cake

1lb Plain flour
3tsp Baking powder
1tsp Bicarbonate of soda
3tsp Ground ginger
6oz Butter
6oz Soft brown sugar
3oz Black treacle
7oz Golden syrup
1 Egg
10floz Milk

Grease and flour a loaf tin. Preheat the oven to 160C/325F/Gas 3

Sift the flour, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda and ginger. 
Place the butter and sugar into a bowl and beat until light and fluffy. 

Add the treacle and golden syrup to the butter mixture and stir well. 
Add a tablespoon of flour and the egg and mix well. Add the 
remaining flour mixture and the milk and stir until it is all combined 

Add the mixture to your loaf tin and cook for 1 half hours or until a 
skewer inserted into the centre comes out cleanly.

Allow the cake to cool in the tin before turning out onto a cooling rack.
