J2O - The Cans review

I hate to say it but I had to fight my 10 yr old son for these canned drinks to try out, as he loves J2O. The cans look presentable and I didn't notice any sub-standard taste either.Which can be a problem with some canned drinks, where the drink gets tainted with a metallic taste. But these drinks tasted as though they had just come out of a bottle. My son loved them to.They even lasted him longer than the bottled version, but this may have been down to the fact that with a can you can't see at a glance exactly how much drink you have left, whereas with a bottle, you can see at a glance. So I think for that reason alone I will buy the new canned version of this lovely, tasty and very refreshing drink.

Souls of darkness review

Being an aspiring writer myself I take every opportunity to pour

over books, especially crime, sci-fi and horror. So when I got the

chance to read and review this illustrated eBook 'Souls of Darkness

I simply jumped at the chance.

With winter upon us what better way is there to spend a late evening

than sitting in your favourite armchair next to a crackling fire, reading

this wonderful anthology of compiled short stories by three brilliant authors,

Louise Hunt, Damon Rathe and Kenneth Frank.

'Souls of Darkness' is a brilliant mixture of true-life terror, sci-fi horror and ghost

stories. The 15 short stories are all built around one particular theme

'darkness within us', that results in a death or even a murder. Each story is

introduced by a small illustration to tempt and entice you into what may

follow in the next few pages.

Each story is tightly written, well paced and the descriptive narrative and the

dialogue bring each story and character to life. If you don't have the time or

the inclination to sit down and read a full length novel, then this book is the

ideal 'pick up and read' and would make a perfect gift for any family member

or friend who may be getting an eReader this Christmas.

Painting by Numbers by Tom Gillespie review

I was offered the chance to review this book 'Painting by Numbers' by the

author himself, Tom Gillespie and what an absolute pleasure it was.

Firstly the command of the English language throughout the book is first rate.

Combined with the detailed and descriptive narrative, every scene on every page

come alive painting a clear image for the reader.

The whole book is intelligent and articulate. The lead character is so believable you can

almost feel yourself being devoured by his obsessions and his search.

This book is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Mystery, obsession, suspense

are all here running through every page at a steady pace. All the

key ingredients make you want to turn the page to find out where this

journey will take you.If you like the works of Dan Brown and Colin Dexter to

name but two you will love this book.

But don't just take my word for it. Read it for yourselves, you won't

be disappointed.

Spin Mania review and giveaway

We were very kindly sent this rather unique game to try out

and review. Boy it was fun! But having a nine year old wipe

the floor with you playing this game.. well least said!

It does help to have a very steady hand, so as not

to drop the spinning plates off the plate 'spike' and good speed and

co-ordination to get the plates onto the hidden stands as quickly as

possible. It certainly keeps you on your toes or your knees, depending on

where 'cruel' members of your family may decide to place the stands.

I found myself under my desk several times and even on top of a book case.

Of course having to beat your opponents' time adds to the challenge.

It was a bit of a culture shock for our young son to actually play

a game that didn't involve sitting in front a screen playing computer

type games. However it wasn't long before he got hooked to this game

and now there's no stopping him! It must be the competitive streak in him

as he wants to play this game 24/7. Which is lucky as the game is designed

for one or more players.

It is so refreshing to actually find a really fun game for kids and adults to play

that doesn't involve sitting in front of a screen and this has to be in the top five

of family games to be played this Christmas.

You can find Drumond park on Twitter & Facebook

Kids take on a unique spinning,

   speeding, time trial challenge!

Thinking about that Christmas list, with kids in mind?  The new Spin Mania action game from

Drumond Park (rrp £22.99) provides thrills and spills a-plenty, and is already popular – not

just with both boys and girls, but all the family! Against the clock, players ‘spin-up’ three

orange helicopter-like rotary plates one at a time, and transfer them to stands previously

hidden by their opponents. The kids can make this tricky for mum, dad, nan or granddad,

by placing the plate stands in hard to reach places, like under the table. The plates must still

be spinning when the player stops the clock – then it’s the next person’s turn.

Players need not just steady hands, but a combination of eagle eyes and a good turn of speed

, as well! And if they want to make a real party of it, there’s plenty of scope for team challenges,

too… you’ll soon have them all in a whirl – it’s Christmas crackers!

And for all my wonderful followers we are hosting a giveaway
for you to own your very own Spin Mania so you too can enjoy
the fun with your children too.

Bad Moon Rising by Frances Di Plino review

As a member of a Facebook Writer's/Publishers site and an
aspiring author myself , I posted asking if anyone wanted me to
read and review their books and that I post my review on
our Blog and almost instantly I received several offers to read
and review and I accepted them with gratitude and eager
anticipation.

This is a review of the first brilliant book I was generously
given to read and what a fantastic book it turned out to be.

Frances Di Plimo is a first class author who has produced
a first class novel in 'Bad Moon Rising'. If you like a good
murder story that is solid and believable you'll LOVE this
one.

This novel is brilliantly executed and very well paced throughout

with characters who come across as real as you and I. Each
of the main characters all have their own sub plots running

throughout the book some more detailed than others, but they
help bring the book to life. Combined with scenes that are
described in such perfect graphic detail, the whole book paints
a visual picture in the minds eye at the turn of each page. The story
revolves around the brutal murder and rape (yes in that order) of
prostitutes at the hands of a twisted and demented soul who
believes he is acting on behalf of God and Jesus. That's all I am
going to say as I don't want to give any more of  this superb
plot away.

'Bad Moon Rising' is a classic 21st century Detective Novel.

A top notch murder mystery, full of sinister religious undertones

and twists cleverly interwoven throughout and combined with
well crafted dialogue it makes this book very difficult to put
down.

But don't just take my word for it. Go and get

'Bad Moon Rising'

and read it and enjoy it. You won't be disappointed.

Home School Your First Grader by Beth Jones Review

We were asked if we would like to review this book,

and as we home school our 9 year old son we thought it

to be a great idea, especially as we are quite new to the

Home schooling world.

It is a very well written book. That is clear and concise in a

friendly and reassuring way and gives a very positive attitude

to home schooling your child.

The book also does a great job at answering just about all

commonly asked questions, fears and concerns parents may have
about the world of home education. Including suggestions on how
to get the most from your child by letting them feel as though they
have some 'control' over their home education from letting them pick
out writing materials, folders, arts and craft materials to helping to
create their lesson plans and where in the house they would feel
most comfortable to do their studies.

The book does also offer helpful suggestions for different lessons
too, including Science related subjects such as the things around us.

Ideas such as camping, nature hikes, laying on a blanket with your

child and watching the clouds drift by or even watching the stars

at night.

Advice is offered to parents who wish to home school, but have
toddlers running around the house, or may even have a new born
to cater too. It works for everyone.

All in all this is a friendly and informative book that will hopefully put

your mind at ease should you decide, like us, to enter the fun

world of Home Schooling.

The London Perfume Company Review

I was a little unsure what to expect when I agreed to review
The London Perfume Company website and as soon as I checked
out the home page  I knew I was going to enjoy the experience.

Thanks to the 'clean' neutral colour scheme of the background,

attention is focused on the products and the literature and not
on a bright and busy background that may cause distraction.

The home page has all the ingredients needed to
allow potential customers to navigate their way
around the web site in a relaxed informative way.
There is a four page animated advert displaying
special offers, delivery, payment methods and of
course Perfume.

There is also a product search bar, as well as a site
contents list, and access to 'Our Best Sellers' range.
Also there is are sub-headings for different catagories
such as For Her, For Him a drop down menu bar for
the different and exciting  brands available on the site.
A Gift set section and of course a special offers section.

If you are wanting to know about the company, there is the usual
'About us' page which tells of the company's pledge to a 100%
customer commitment. There is even a 'Recruitment Page'
explaining what the company expects their staff to deliver
to the customer.

The Blog page is brilliant and contains fabulous deals, competitions
and of course offers advice to the customer.

All in all the London Perfume Company website is brilliant,
customer orientated and very easy to navigate.

Models Own Top Turquoise Review

Models Own Top Turquoise

I was a little unsure if I would like this colour. The odour was

not strong and was very easy to apply with a brush the length

of my nails. I was surprised that it was quick drying leaving a

glossy turquoise on my nails. I applied 3 coats which lasted

on my nails for a week.

Having now seen it on my nails I LOVE this colour.

Touching Evil -Amber Garr Review and giveaway

It is a story that is made up from the classic ingredients

that are required to produce a thoroughly enjoyable fast

paced book with unexpected twists and turns that

Amber Garr has honed to perfection.

The heroine of the book Leila Marx is also the narrator so the

story is seen through her eyes, experiences and reactions to

events that unfold on every page.

From the very first page, the story is already at running pace.

What starts out as an apparently brilliant crime story in it's own
right, is unexpectedly turned on it's head with a supernatural twist.

The idea really does work well and is perfectly seamless.

Each character is well written, solid and believable.

As is every descriptive scene and situation. Keeping you

glued and wanting to turn the page to see what happens

next.

All in all 'TOUCHING EVIL' is a well written,

murder mystery/supernatural story. Full of humour,

horror, suspense and looks at Supernatural characters

in a different light......
It has been an absolute pleasure to read and review this book.

To purchase this book on amazon:
Kindle
Paperback

or you can purchase via smashwords here

With one touch, Leila can see it all.

Leila Marx is trying to put her life back together after her fiancé is murdered. When Detective Garrick Pearson enlists her help with a difficult case, she is thankful for the distraction and the opportunity to use her talents as a touch clairvoyant. Leila and Garrick quickly delve into the mystery behind a series of missing teenage girls and mummified corpses while discovering their own growing attraction to each other.

Conner Hoffman is an intriguing lawyer and striking half-demon who enters Leila’s life unexpectedly.  Although her visions are terrifying, she is fascinated by his charm and his legacy. When it becomes evident that the murders are linked to a paranormal event, Conner introduces Leila to a world unbeknownst to ordinary society. She suddenly finds herself immersed in supernatural politics, sorcery, and danger as she becomes the killer’s next target.

Staying alive will mean relying on friends, accepting the unbelievable, and trusting in her heart again.

UtterlyPersonal - Personalised Giraffe Pyjama Case

We were very kindly asked by online gift retailer UtterlyPersonal.co.uk
to review just one of hundreds of wonderful personalised gifts that they
have on offer....it was very hard to choose, as they supply personalised
gifts for just about every single occasion..Birthdays,Weddings, Christenings,
even personalised gifts for pets. But with Christmas just around the corner
we decided on the personalised Giraffe Baby Pyjama Case.

Our son who loves soft toys, saw it and fell in love with it and
staked his claim on it, before he even saw his name on it, The
Giraffe Baby Pyjama Case is beautifully designed and
constructed, meeting all British Safety Standards.

It is a wonderful toy. Soft to the touch so any young child

will simply love to hug and cuddle it. But it also has a practical

element for Parents as it is doubles up as a pyjama case.

Velcro on the back holds the pyjamas securely inside, which in
turn will add to the softness thus making the toy even more cuddly.

It can even hold a small hot water bottle instead of pyjamas for
those cold winter nights. Parents may even like to cuddle it now
and again too and as this beautiful toy has been personalised
there can be no arguments between family members as to who this
lovely toy belongs too! So adults be warned you can't stake your
claim on it if your name isn't on it!

We found enclosed with the toy a 'Giraffe Baby Birth Certificate',
on it is a little note from the 'Giraffe Baby' telling the 'owner'
what uses the pyjama case has. Also at the bottom of the
certificate, there is provision for the 'Owner's name' plus the name
of the 'Giraffe Baby'....come on now, who doesn't like to give
their cuddly toys a name. Plus room for the 'Giraffe Baby's birthday'.

All in all this is a wonderful toy and every child deserves one
especially one that has been personalised just for them.

So why not take a look at the brilliant range of products on offer
at UtterlyPersonal.co.uk as we feel confident you will find a
fantastic personalised gift for someone in your life, young or old.

Pretty little nails review

I was very lucky to win some hand painted false nails from

Pretty Little Nails

I gave xameliax free rein and let her imagination go with the design
only telling her I would like powder shades and she could do
anything else. So it was a great surprise when my beautifully
packaged nails arrived.

My nails are absolutely beautiful, they came with easy to read

instructions on how to apply them even coming with sticky tabs.

Although I chose to put them on with glue as I wanted them

to stay on for longer. I could not wait for any occasion so

that I could show them off.
